At Fast Surfaces, we provide multiple types of asphalt and synthetic sports court overlays, for whatever improvements your courts need. If you’d like to find out more about our overlays, reach out to us today:
Asphalt and Paving Fabric Overlays
When courts are in moderately cracked or deteriorated condition, asphalt and paving fabric overlays are used to lengthen the life of your existing court, by addressing and fixing cracks, imperfections, and deteriorated or uneven pavement.
We start with a conventional crack and puddle repair to stabilize the base. We then add a full application of tack coat, for the adhesion of paving fabric. The paving fabric is then installed over the entire surface, to prevent reflective cracking in the finished asphalt surface. We top that with a 2” application of top asphalt and then apply an acrylic court surfacing system.
Asphalt and Stone Dust Overlays (aka Slip Sheet Overlays)
This type of repair is a great way to rejuvenate your old existing court, especially when it has excessive structural cracking and surface imperfections such as deteriorated pavement.
We start with the simple installation of Stone Dust to fill any cracks we find in our initial inspection. Then we add a full 1” slip sheet of Stone Dust rolled and compacted to your entire court surface, while leaving a small amount of existing surface exposed for the asphalt adhesion that sandwiches the system.
Prior to paving, we apply a tack coat to the perimeter of your court, ultimately establishing a paved surface that includes 2” of base asphalt and 1” of top asphalt. On top of this, we apply the new acrylic court surfacing system to your court.
All Weather Overlays
Our all-weather court overlays start with repairing cracks and puddles in your court’s surface. We then fit and install full sheets of roll goods over the entire surface of the court, and secure it around the perimeter. This allows the new surface to remain stable when the asphalt underneath moves. Once this is complete we install your new acrylic court surfacing system.
Synthetic Turf Overlays
Our synthetic court overlays start with our repairing any cracks and puddles in your existing court surface. We then fit and install full sheets of synthetic turf over the entire surface, with lines attached, and we secure the turf around the perimeter only, which keeps the surface stable if the asphalt underneath moves. Once this is complete, we add sand to stand the turf up, and make contact for play on the tips of the turf.
